Broken Femur at Middle Kingdom

The reason that I haven't posted new video or much at all lately is that on May 25th, Jason and I went up to Curt Gowdy to ride the "Big Boy Park" at Middle Kingdom and on my first jump of the day I put my leg down for balance and my knee locked. When all my weight transferred over to that leg it broke. Being out of commission for a while I put this quick segment together for your awesome viewing pleasure. I personally like the music track playing, I feel like it captures the moment well.

Sick UK Bikes

I found this new bike company over in the UK via a Facebook post today. Saracen Bikes makes a pretty sick looking bike. Check out this video and judge for your self.

Also check out their 24" dirt jumpers, they are pretty sick too.

Curt Gowdy: Middle Kingdom

On the previous post, I mentioned that nobody would ride Middle Kingdom at Curt Gowdy with me. If you aren't from South Eastern Wyoming or Northern Colorado, then I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about. You might also think that we are just a bunch of backwoods mouth-breathers incapable of building an awesome freeride mountain bike course. Well feast your eyes on this sucka!

Curt Gowdy: Stone Temple Circuit

If you have been following The Huckstables, then you know that we are a man down for the rest of the season. On a freak accident, Bert broke the lateral condyle off of his femur. Not just cracked his lateral condyle, he broke it OFF!

With Bert not willing to ride (what a sissy!), JJ and I took to trail riding and a break from the skills park at Curt Gowdy. We decided on riding the Stone Temple Circuit.
The trail is roughly half climbing and half downhill. The climb, if you ride clockwise, is not all that difficult except that I was on my 9 speed 40 pound downhill mountain bike. I won't go into the specifics of the climb because riding uphill sucks and I'm sure you don't give a shit about it! I will only say that my balls were producing sweat at a rate I previously thought was unachievable! The odor from aforementioned genital sweat may have been the reason JJ was always so far behind.

After we caught our breath at the top, we lowered the seats at took off. The downhill section is awesome, of course! We bombed through open prairie, aspen groves, and granite boulder sections. The downhill ride takes less than 10 minutes, unless you are a pansy and ride the brakes all the way down. In which case, I hope you tap the front brake a bit too hard and introduce your face to the dirt! You deserve it!

On a side note, If anyone reading this wants to put on their big boy pants and ride Middle Kingdom with me, PLEASE let me know. Bert was the only one that was willing to push himself with me, and for that he will be missed on our rides!

What We Need to Procede

With all the injuries recently in mountain biking... JJ has a strained rotator cuff from a month old wreck where he smashed his shoulder. Jason had some broken ribs from a jump where he landed it on his shoulder. Now I have a broken the lateral condyle on my femur. More on that later, but, in the mean time the video below shows what The Huckstables need to get better without sustaining more injuries. Huck and Roll on the mountain bike!

Rock Mountain DJ Flow

I mentioned in the UDUG that you can consider a DJ bike purchased. But I'm not talking about just any DJ bike. I need a mountain bike that will stand up to an large number of under-rotated 360 attempts. I need a mountain bike that will look so mean that when I finally nail that 360, the XC'ers that have stopped to witness The Huckstables hang their heads in shame and question their own manhood!
This is that bike...

So, if you see me on this bike then be prepared to weep at the thought of your increasing insignificance.

This is where the Huckstables need to take our mountain biking...consider a new dirt jump bike purchased!
